If you’ve been visiting with us and are beginning to ask questions about membership, we’re really glad you’re here. Our hope is to make the membership process clear, relational, and unhurried—so you can discern thoughtfully whether The Vine Community Church is the church family God is calling you to join.
At The Vine Community Church membership isn’t about signing up for a program or checking boxes. It’s about entering into a covenant—walking together in love for Jesus, authentic community, and shared mission.
Here’s what that process looks like.
Step 1: Discovery

“Who is The Vine Community Church, and what are you really about?”
Discovery is the starting point for learning more about The Vine Community Church. It’s a short, welcoming orientation where you’ll hear the story of how this church began, meet some of our pastors, staff, and elders, and learn about our heart for Jesus, community, and mission.
This step is designed for people who are curious—whether you’re brand new or have been attending for a few weeks—and want to better understand who The Vine Community Church is and why we talk about membership as a covenant rather than just attendance.
There’s no pressure here—just an invitation to listen, ask questions, and begin discerning whether this might be a place you want to call home.
Step 2: Exploration

“What does it actually mean to belong here?”
If Discovery helps you connect with the story and heart of TVCC, Exploration helps you go deeper. This class walks through what covenant membership looks like in real life at The Vine Community Church.
During Exploration, you’ll learn about:
• What The Vine Community Church believes theologically
• The values and commitments that shape our life together
• The covenant principles that guide and instruct our understanding of membership and shared life.
This is a space to explore openly, ask honest questions, and decide whether you’re ready to move toward membership—not out of obligation, but out of shared conviction and joy.
Step 3: Connection
Pastoral/Elder Conversation | Scheduled Individually
“Let’s get to know each other.”
The final step is Connection—a personal conversation with a pastor or elder from The Vine Community Church, usually over coffee or a meal. This is simply a chance to get to know you better. In this conversation, you’ll have space to share your story, ask any remaining questions, and talk through what covenant membership at The Vine Community Church would look like for you and/or your family.
We believe church life—and church membership—was never meant to be anonymous. Connection reflects the importance of not only knowing, but being known. We believe biblical community is a lot like family. And as with family, relationships matter.
